Founded in 1929 as a commercial scale company, Gerhart harbors a long legacy as an expert in industrial weighing—the foundation of every one of our material handling and measurement solutions. Whether installing an internal plant scale, relocating a weighing system, or optimizing loadcell mounts, our precision solutions are built on experience, flexibility, and reliability.

Gerhart Engineered Solutions for Industrial Weighing

Heavy capacity weighing systems require exceptional planning, coordination, and know-how to ensure proper design and engineering, safe and efficient installation, and lasting performance. Gerhart offers turnkey installation of industrial scales, tanks, silos, and other large weighing equipment, and we also specialize in overhauls, rebuilds, and retrofits.

PROCESS WEIGHING SYSTEMS

Batching/Continuous Controllers: Standard and custom batching, loss-in-weight, and gain-in-weight controls solutions

Transmitters: Compact, configurable DIN-mounted transmitters with analog, ethernet IP, TCP/IP, PROFIBUS, and MODBUS outputs; NTEP approved weight transmitters also available

In-Motion (Dynamic) Checkweighers: Available in roller and belt in an array of speeds and capacities; options include data collection, fill rate controls (T1, T2), rejection/ejection systems, and metal detection

Belt/Conveyor Scales: An excellent way to monitor materials and productivity in the aggregate and recycling industries

Loadcell Mounts: Can be used to convert tanks, hoppers, silos, and conveyers into weighing systems; custom mounts and adapter plates available

PLANT SCALES

Instrumentation: From simple readouts to batch controlling, we offer advanced data collecting instrumentation that can be seamlessly integrated into your plant process

Bench Scales: The workhorse in the manufacturing process; options range from simple ingredient weighers to stainless steel washdown checkweighers

Industrial Balances: Highly precise; ideal for applications where pre-weighing, ingredient batching, or high-cost raw materials are involved

Ex Scales: Designed for hazardous area weighing, whether FM approved, X or Y purged, or explosion-proof enclosure

Floor Scales: Mild, stainless steel floor and drum scales; options include custom finishes, pit frames, ramps, bumper guards, and portability kits

Forklift Scales: Variety of forklift scales for any industrial application; ideal for high-speed logistics settings

Crane Scales/Monorail: Performance- and safety-based overhead weighing systems; unlimited setup options

Loadcells: Standard and custom-engineered options; custom mounts and adapter plates also available

Peripherals: Printers, remote displays, wireless communication, RFID readers, networking, barcode readers, cameras, and much more

TRUCK & RAIL SCALES

Above-Ground Scales: The most common choice in heavy-duty vehicle weighing; options range from steel to concreate deck

Pit Scales: At-grade weighing reduces scale footprint when real estate needs to be conserved

Axle Scales: A quick and relatively inexpensive solution when individual axle weights are needed or a full-size truck can’t be utilized; both static and dynamic applications

Portable Scales: Steel decked scales (any size) that can be easily broken down and moved; legal for trade for up to 6 months in most states

Rail Scales (Legal for Trade): We work with rail engineering companies, local railroads, and State W&M to ensure the right system for your application, considering rail space, soil bearing, overhead obstacles, rail car sizes, and combo rail/trucks

Rail Scales (Non-Legal for Trade): When optimizing rail car weights in a non-NTEP application, weigh-rails are a great solution; can be used in static applications and purchased in both singe and full draft configurations

Kiosks: Standalone or fully networked custom kiosk solutions including HMI/printer systems that can tie into your existing ticketing software

Accessories: IP cameras, traffic gates, loop detectors, photo eyes, traffic lights, intercoms, printers, remote displays, radiation detectors, guardrails, stairs, handrails, concrete work, and more
