Thermal imaging is one of today’s most valuable diagnostic tools for both preventative and issue-based maintenance applications. To help keep production facilities running at optimum performance levels every day of the year, Gerhart offers state-of-the-art thermal inspection services for a variety of system components.

Gerhart Engineered Solutions for Thermal Inspection

Gerhart specializes in quick and powerful inspection of control panels and can perform regular scans of panel components with thermal imaging cameras to detect high heat levels that may lead to inefficiencies, component damage, or fire.

Thermal inspections can quickly locate hot spots in electrical systems that could mean overloaded circuits and fuses, faulty terminations, eroded or loose connections, or other issues. Gerhart can then determine the nature and severity of the problem and conduct proper repairs. Thermal imaging is noncontact and can be performed while electrical systems are fully operational, saving time and maintaining a safe inspection environment.

If a roller is worn out in a conveyer system, we can detect it using thermal imaging. When a bearing has become worn and less efficient, the heat emitted from it increases, as does the temperature of surrounding system components. By detecting worn bearings, we can replace them prior to seizure and/or resulting system damage.

Gerhart uses thermal imaging cameras to observe equipment motors for contact wear and shorts, both of which can produce excess heat prior to failure. Thermal inspection can also be used to detect overheated rollers, pumps, motor axles, and bearings, and used to compare the overall temperatures of different motors.

Thermal inspection is used by Gerhart to collect data on the condition of insulation around piping, kilns, and ovens, and can provide a quick overview of an entire system. Thermal imaging allows potential problem regions to be clearly identified, giving us the power to make repairs before damage is done or problems take place.

Locating leaks in sealed vessels is fast and easy with thermal inspection. To find a leaky seal or gasket, Gerhart uses a thermal imaging camera to scan the seal in question and look for thermal irregularities. A dramatic fluctuation in temperature along the seal or gasket will indicate a leak, which we can then address and repair.

LET’S MAKE IT HAPPEN.
